Amazing Mystical Aerial Views of Phoenix, AZ – Fog-like Inversion Layer

This week an early morning aerial flight in Phoenix gave me some spectacular aerial shots. An inversion layer from the cooler temperatures gave the appearance of fog from 3,000 feet, especially toward the west near Goodyear. The mountains appeared like islands above the fog, and I had just enough time to get a polarizer filter to make the most of the sun peeking through the clouds. The views disappeared by 11am – and I was lucky enough to be in the right spot to capture these views. Here are these aerial shots, some of my favorites from 2016:
